Stretchy Tabs

We want a set of horizontal navigation tabs, preferably marked up as an unordered list, that satisfies the following:

tabs must span the entire width of the browser window
tabs must be evenly spaced
tabs can be of variable length

Try 1 : ul as table-row

Try 2 : table

Navigation	larger variable content	one	two	three	four	larger variable	five	six	seven

Try 3 : ul w/ image backgrounds

Try 4 : table w/ image backgrounds

Navigation	larger variable content	one	two	three	four	larger variable	five	six	seven

Try 5 : ul converted to table via DOM
